GROW is an international support group that has been rebuilding lives since 1957 and in New Jersey since 1991.

It has helped thousands recover from depression, anxiety and even more serious mental health issues such as schizophrenia and bipolar.

Even if you are just suffering from a short bout of depression, GROW’s friendly support can help you to live a full, happy life.

GROW’s Unique and Interesting History

Prior to the formation of GROW, many people attended alcoholics anonymous meetings solely for emotional support. The founders of GROW realized that there were others like themselves that were attending A.A. for support even though they were not alcoholics.

They took what worked best for them from A.A. and created a new program for recovering from a mental breakdown. Their groups were closely monitored and tweaked until the absolute best system was put in place.

Very little has changed except for the fact that group was optimized to also help others who are struggling emotionally but did not have a mental breakdown.

In other words, people that minor but troubling mental health complaints like depression and anxiety, can receive friendly help from GROW’s many support groups in New Jersey.

What Can You Expect When You Attend
A GROW Support Group In New Jersey?

GROW is a “structured” support group. You always will have time to discuss your problems. However, part of the group is also geared towards learning how to overcome our mental health issues, like every-day depression and anxiety.

GROW is based on friendship, so you will find us to be a very caring and supportive community.

One last change that happened over time was that GROW spread from Australia to several other countries. We are lucky that GROW’s friendly support groups have made it to the United States and we have several groups here in New Jersey!
